Floor view
The Floor view is a board for the shop floor. It shows the jobs queued and in progress on each line, so supervisors and operators know what to run next.
Reading the board
- Columns or lanes represent work centers and their production lines.
- Each card is an operation: the item, the production order, the quantity and its current progress.
- Cards are shown in run order. The top card in a lane is the next job up.
- Progress labels show whether a job is not started, running, paused or finished.
Common tasks
- Change the run order: drag a card up or down within its lane.
- Move a job to another line: drag the card across to a different lane in the same work center.
- Check what is next: look at the cards below the running job in each lane.
Every move is saved to Business Central as soon as you drop the card.
Keeping the board accurate
The board is only as current as the progress operators record. Make sure each job is started, paused and finished as it happens; see Recording progress below.
